Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Victor Mayko met with the delegation of the Secretariat of the World Economic Forum headed by Deputy Chair on Strategic Planning and Global Management Stephan Mergentaler.
During the meeting the parties discussed the topical issues, in particular, the preparation to the final session of Strategic Dialogue on Ukraine to be held on 5-6 November 2013 in Kyiv, and the elaboration of the Project “Scenarios on the future of Ukraine”, on which the specially created group of international experts is working nowadays, and the results of which are to be presented during the Annual WEF Meeting in January 2014 in Davos.
Mr. Victor Mayko stressed out the necessity of further promotion and deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation between Ukraine and the World Economic Forum on development of perspective sectors of Ukrainian economy, attraction of foreign direct investment, improvement of Ukrainian investment climate and legislation, implementation of WEF’s experts experience. Mr. Mayko also underlined the importance of the WEF’s experts contribution to the process of renovation of the main Ukrainian economic sectors competitiveness such as agriculture, energy sector and metallurgic industry.
The readiness to provide successful implementation of the Ukrainian President’s Initiative on Regional WEF Summit on Europe and Central Asia to be held in Kyiv was confirmed.
