H.E. Mr. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, met his Singaporean counterpart H.E. Mr. George Yeo on 28 March 2011, during the State visit of H.E. Mr. Viktor Yanukovych, President of Ukraine, to the Republic of Singapore.
The heads of foreign ministries of two countries discussed a wide range of current bilateral and international issues.
The Sides highly assessed the dynamics of Ukraine-Singapore political dialogue, which has been noticeably intensified after the visit of H.E. Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, Minister Mentor of Singapore, to Ukraine in September 2010. It was emphasized that the State visit of the President of Ukraine to Singapore will give significant impulse to bilateral relations in all fields.
The agreements on the initiating of mutually beneficial collaboration in different branches of economy were reached, as well as in investment sphere, in particular, related to the National Projects. The Sides recognized the importance of interaction, aimed at further development of legal base of bilateral relations, primarily by continuing negotiations on the agreements on free trade, air services and visa-free regime.
Particular attention was given by Ukrainian Minister to the upcoming international events, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of Chornobyl NPP accident.
Mr. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko invited his Singaporean colleague to visit Ukraine for further continuation of fruitful bilateral dialogue.
