Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko on a working visit to Brussels with a view of participating in the Brussels Forum met with EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule.
K.Gryshchenko and S.Fule discussed the process of negotiations on the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU and confirmed their resoluteness to finalize the talks in 2011. In that connection the parties aired their hopes for successful results of the next round of talks on the Ukraine-EU free trade area on April 4-8, 2011.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the EU Commissioner also discussed a series of topical international issues.
Within the framework of the Forum the Ukrainian Foreign Minister met with Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden Carl Bildt.
The parties discussed the progress in key directions of the Ukraine-EU agenda and a series of regional issues.
The meeting between K. Gryshchenko and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip H. Gordon dealt with the Ukraine-USA agenda, preparations for the conference “Twenty-five Years after Chornobyl Accident. Safety for the Future” slated force on April 19 in Kyiv, as well as other regional developments.
