Within the framework of his working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on July 8 2013, Acting Head of the OSCE, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara met with Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov in "face to face" and in the extended format.
The sides discussed the state and prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE, in particular of Azerbaijan's initiative to revise the current mandate of the OSCE field presence in the Republic of Azerbaijan and exchanged views on ways to strengthen the OSCE's efforts towards solving the protracted conflicts and make full use of the potential of the OSCE Minsk Group peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Discussing the bilateral component of the Ukrainian-Azerbaijani relations, the sides' attention was concentrated on the issues of the further deepening of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Azerbaijan, in particular by stepping up bilateral trade cooperation in such promising areas as energy, space, investment cooperation, infrastructure construction, agricultural sector, inter-regional cooperation, education and science.
It was stressed the importance of continuing to work together on strengthening the legal framework of the bilateral relations and effective cooperation between the two countries within international organizations.
Acting Head of the OSCE, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara invited his Azerbaijani counterpart to visit Ukraine with an official visit to the end of this year.
