The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is bound to comply with a court of appeals ruling to reinstate as of December 9, 2019 an employee, who had been discharged earlier due to him publishing chauvinistic and xenophobic posts online.

The Ministry continues to believe that the actions and public statements of the person are incompatible with the high rank of civil servant and Ukrainian diplomat, as well as that such actions of his caused a significant damage to the international image of Ukraine.

The Ministry contends the reinstatement of the person in the diplomatic service, and the lack of persuasive legal reasoning for such a decision of the court of appeal. Thus, on December 17, 2019 we have filed a cassation appeal with the Supreme Court of Ukraine in order to establish the truth in this resonant case.
