On 18 December 2019, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadym Prystaiko met with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly President George Tsereteli.
Vadym Prystaiko reaffirmed the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in the OSCE and expressed his gratitude to Mr Tsereteli for his strong support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in face of Russian military aggression in Donbas and illegal occupation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
The Minister stressed that the ongoing Russian aggression is the most serious challenge to the European security architecture. It is important for Ukraine to use all available OSCE PA tools to ensure that Russia adheres to international law, OSCE principles and commitments and implements OSCE PA documents.
George Tsereteli assured of Assembly’s consistent support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders and its readiness to further promote Ukrainian parliamentary initiatives. According to George Tsereteli, adoption, in recent years, by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly of relevant resolutions in support of Ukraine is a clear demonstration of the consolidated position of Assembly’s parliamentarians in this respect.
