On March 24, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yevhen Mykytenko held political consultations in Moscow with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexander Saltanov, during which the current situation in the region of North Africa, Middle East and Persian Gulf, as well as its development prospects was discussed in detail.
The sides noted with satisfaction the high level of coordination and mutual assistance during evacuation of the Ukrainian and Russian citizens from Tunisia and Libya.
It was agreed to further coordinate the activities of foreign ministries of Ukraine and Russia to protect the interests of the citizens of both countries and to inform each other about developments in the Middle East region and the positions of Ukraine and Russia.
