On March, 22 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Viktor Maiko at the head of Ukrainian business delegation paid an one-day official visit to the State of Kuwait. During the conversation the Deputy Chief of Ukrainian Foreign Service delivered for his Kuwaiti counterpart Khalid Al-Jaralla the Invitation of President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to participate in the “Kiev Summit on Secure and Innovative Usage of Nuclear Power”.
In its turn the Kuwaiti representative informed that the leadership of the State had decided to increase its share in the Chernobyl Fund, which amounts now 6 million US dollars. The final sum of the donation will be aired during the events, devoted to the 25th anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe. The interlocutor also confirmed the participation of high-level representatives of the Emirate in the April events.
During the visit the members of the Ukrainian delegation met with local businessmen and discussed ways of further enhancing of economic and trade cooperation between both countries, particularly, participation of Ukrainian companies in implementation of Emirate’s national development projects.
The parties also discussed prospects of attracting Kuwaiti investments in Ukraine’s economy.
