Mr.V.Mayko congratulated Mr.G.Pyatt on his appointment and wished him every success in his new assignment. The parties discussed topical issues of Ukraine-US cooperation in political, trade and economic spheres.

Both sides underlined the importance of further strengthening cooperation in the energy sector.

The newly appointed Ambassador confirmed the US Government support of Ukraine's integration to the EU, in particular the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU in November this year.

During the meeting Mr.G.Pyatt condemned the outrage upon Ukrainian National flag by the American rock band "Bloodhound Gang" during the concert in Ukraine, and characterized this action as offensive and inappropriate.
