The Forth session of the Council of Foreign Ministries of Ukraine and Poland took place in Kyiv on February 8, 2012 under the co-chairmanship of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Radoslaw Sikorski.
The whole range of issues of Ukrainian-Polish cooperation was on session’s agenda. The parties worked out common priorities for a short- and medium-term perspective, including a schedule of bilateral events in 2012. The Roadmap of Ukrainian-Polish Cooperation in 2013-2014 was agreed to be prepared for the signing.
The Polish side re-confirmed its readiness to provide practical assistance in the course of preparation of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement to be signed as well as implementation of the Action Plan on liberalization of visa regime with the EU. The parties noted positive dynamic in bilateral trade, which volumes increased by 30 percent in 2011. Ukrainian and Polish delegations discussed ways to further improve investment cooperation and agreed to exert additional efforts to solve existing problems of Polish investors in Ukraine.
Specific attention was attached to the issues of EURO 2012, particularly in terms of preparation for the next session of intergovernmental Committee on the level of Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Poland.
Kostyantyn Gryshchenko and Radoslaw Sikorski also exchanged views on current international and regional developments.
As a result of negotiations, the Parties approved the Action Plan on cooperation between Foreign Ministries of Ukraine and Poland in 2012-2013.
In the framework of the visit Minister for Foreign Affairs of Poland was also received by President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
