On March 9, 2011 in Budapest consultations on European integration at the level of deputy foreign ministers of Ukraine and Hungary were held.
The delegations were headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Deputy State Secretary (Political Director) Péter Sztáray respectively.
High dynamics of the Ukrainian-Hungarian relations as well as Ukraine - EU relations was praised. In this regard both sides underlined their mutual interest in enhancing cooperation.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine stressed that the completion of negotiations on Ukraine - EU Association Agreement, including establishment of deep and comprehensive free trade area remains a common goal of Ukraine and the European Union.
Pavlo Klimkin and Péter Sztáray also discussed ways of cooperation aimed at implementation of the Action Plan on Visa Liberalization for Ukraine. In this context it was noted that effective interrelation with the Hungarian Presidency is essential to fulfil this task.
Prospects of further implementation of the Eastern Partnership were also discussed.
