The event was attended by representatives of more than 40 countries as well as the delegations of the EU, NATO and the UN.

During the conference delegates focused their attention on ways how to enhance international efforts combating maritime piracy, especially in the Horn of Africa and Gulf of Aden as well as defining the best practices to ensure the security of merchant shipping.

During his speech Hennadii Latii underscored the importance of continuing coordinated international efforts tackling maritime piracy and informed the participants of the conference about the latest steps taken by the Government of Ukraine in this regard.
