Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine meets Prime Minister of Slovakia

During the official visit to the Slovak Republic, OSCE Chairperson-in-Office,  Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara met with Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico. 

During the meeting the current agenda of the Ukrainian - Slovak relations, including intensification of economic cooperation, was discussed. The sides noted the positive trend of bilateral trade growth.

They emphasized the need to intensify cooperation in energy, transport and cross-border areas, and the importance of investment cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia.

In this context Leonid Kozhara renewed the invitation from the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov to Prime Minister of Slovakia R.Fico to visit Ukraine to discuss new opportunities for enhanced economic cooperation between the two countries.

Special attention was paid to the European integration of Ukraine. The Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic declared a support of his country to sign an Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU during the Vilnius „Eastern Partnership” Summit in November.

The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed on key reforms undertaken in Ukraine, including those required for the Association Agreement to be signed.
