Chairperson-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara met with the Head of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan Ambassador Marcus Muller and the Office staff. OSCE Office in Tajikistan is one of the biggest OSCE field presences, which has its representatives in five regions of the country.
OSCE Mission in Tajikistan was opened in 1994. Initial mandate of the OSCE Mission in Tajikistan was provided for facilitating the dialogue between regional and political forces, respect of human rights, OSCE norms and principles, as well as for assisting the country in developing legal and democratic institutions and processes.
Currently the priority directions of the OSCE Office in Tajikistan activities is the support of economic and democratic reforms, promoting good management of water resources and strengthening energy security of the state.
