In Rome, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara met with Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Italian Republic Emma Bonino.
The two ministers discussed all current issues of bilateral relations. The special attention was paid to further promoting of trade and economic, as well as investment cooperation between Ukraine and Italy.
Preparation for signing of the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement at the Eastern Partnership Summit in Vilnius on 28-29 November 2013 was a key issue for discussion. Minister Kozhara informed about the progress achieved by Ukraine in implementation of the tasks, agreed with the EU, on the way towards the signing of the Agreement.
The Parties also exchanged their views on visa liberalization between Ukraine and the EU in terms of implementation of the Action Plan for liberalization by the EU of visa regime for Ukraine.
It was agreed to cooperate more actively in cultural and humanitarian spheres taking into account the large number of Ukrainian citizens living in Italy.
The ministers paid special attention to the Ukrainian OSCE Chairmanship, particularly preparation for the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting on 5-6 December 2013 in Kyiv. Emma Bonino welcomed active and constructive position of Ukraine on all issues of the OSCE agenda.
