According to information provided by the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, on January 1, 2011 a Ukrainian citizen, a crewmember, was found dead on board the Dutch vessel “Alexia” near the American port of Houston.

After the ship had touched at the port of Houston on January 5, the body of the deceased was delivered to the local morgue for autopsy to find the death reasons. Another “Alexia” crewmember, a citizen of Ukraine, was detained under suspicion of the murder.

The issue of holding the prejudicial inquiry into the case is being decided.

The case is under control of the Directorate General for Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Embassy in the USA.
