On 13 June 2012 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine the meeting of the Public Expert Council within Ukrainian part of the Committee on EU-Ukraine Cooperation (PEC) took place. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine - Head of Staff Pavlo Klimkin participated at the meeting.

The meeting aimed at discussing modalities of cooperation between the MFA and the PEC in the context of preparation the draft Information and Communication Strategy to improve public awareness on European integration.

Preparation and approval of that document is envisaged by the National Action Plan for 2012 to implement the program of economic reforms for 2010-2014 "Prosperous society, competitive economy, effective state", which was approved by the Decree of the President of Ukraine № 187 of 12.03.2012.

As the result of the meeting it was agreed to prepare the first draft of the Strategy by September this year with the aim of its subsequent tabling for broad public discussion and further approval by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.
