The Commission decided to grant the Status of a Foreign Ukrainian to 665 individuals from 39 countries, among them – Latvia, Moldova, Russia, Mauritania, New Zealand, Guinea Bissau etc. The total number of foreigners of Ukrainian origin who have so far received this status is 5920.

Members of the Commission were also informed about the joint efforts exerted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Ukrainians abroad so as to improve the legislation, develop the State program of cooperation with Foreign Ukrainians until 2015, and implementation of some joint projects, including the establishment in Washington D.C. of a monument to the victims of Holodomor 1932-1933 in Ukraine.
