The next round of Ukrainian-Swiss Political Consultations was held in Kyiv on December 15th, 2011

The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, and the Swiss delegation – by Deputy Secretary of State, Head of the First Political Department of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland Arthur Mattli.

Consultations focused on a wide range of topical issues of bilateral relations, including cooperation in political, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. Deputy Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin thanked the Swiss side for financing of a number of technical assistance projects in Ukraine, as well as for humanitarian assistance, provided by Swiss charity organizations to Ukrainian schools, hospitals, orphanages.

Particular attention was paid to the cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union in the course of EU-Ukraine Summit preparation.

Cooperation in the framework of international organizations, including within the context of Ukraine’s upcoming presidency in the OSCE in 2013, situation in neighboring countries of Ukraine and Switzerland, as well as other current international issues of mutual interest were also on the agenda of Ukrainian-Swiss political consultations.
