In the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Vilnius, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine met with Foreign Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd. Both Foreign Ministers discussed prospects for increasing trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as intensification of political dialogue.
Kevin Rudd announced the Australian government's decision to contribute one million euros to Shelter Fund, which implements a number of projects to ensure safe storage of nuclear fuel at the Chornobyl NPP. On his part, Konstyantyn Gryshchenko thanked for such assistance and invited his Australian counterpart to visit Ukraine in 2012. Minister Rudd gratefully accepted invitation and stressed on his intention to bring with him to Ukraine a group of Australian businessmen, since Australia optimistically assesses the prospects for economic development of Ukraine.
