In the framework of the International Conference on Afghanistan in Bonn, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko met with his Iraqi counterpart Hoshiyar Zebari
05 December 2011 14:12

Ukrainian business is interested in getting new contracts from the Iraqi government as well as enhancement of cooperation with Iraqi private sector. That was emphasized by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine during his meeting with Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshiyar Zebari, held at the International Conference on Afghanistan issues in Bonn.

Head of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said that the firm intention of Ukrainian companies to be present on Iraqi market was clearly defined in the context of economization of Ukraine’s foreign policy and particularly within the framework of the Exporters’ Council activity under the auspices of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Mr. Zebari, in his turn, noted that the official Baghdad was satisfied with the previous cooperation with Ukrainian suppliers of high technology products and remained interested in expanding this partnership. Iraqi Foreign Minister thanked Ukraine for supporting his country at difficult times after the overthrow of the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein.

Both Foreign Ministers also discussed the prospects of intensification of political dialogue at the highest and senior levels.
