On April 3, Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia received Ambassador of Japan to Ukraine Toichi Sakata
Andrii Deshchytsia expressed gratitude for Japan’s strong support of Ukraine on the international arena and its readiness to supply approximately 1,5 billion USD financial assistance to stabilize economic situation in Ukraine.
Toiti Sakata confirmed unwavering Japan’s support of Ukraine’s sovereignty, stating that the Japanese government qualifies Russia's actions in the Crimea as a direct violation of international law. Regarding financial assistance, the Japanese diplomat stressed on the importance of implementation of economic reforms in Ukraine.
During the meeting the sides also discussed current issues of bilateral relations, namely trade and economic cooperation.
