On April 4, 2014 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Danylo Lubkivsky met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Ukraine Cornel Ionescu.
Discussing the situation in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Danylo Lubkivsky expressed his gratitude to the Romanian side for the strong support of Ukraine’s territorial integrity, in particular for co-sponsorship of the UN General Assembly Resolution on territorial integrity of Ukraine adopted on March 27, 2014.
During the meeting the sides exchanged views on the perspectives of Ukraine-Romania cooperation, including intensification of political dialogue at the highest level.
Cornel Ionescu welcomed the signing of the political part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, and assured further Romania’s support of our country’s European integration course.
The sides agreed to intensify cooperation on key issues of bilateral agenda, particularly in trade, economic and humanitarian spheres.
