Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Deshchytsia met with the delegation of Chairs of Foreign Affairs Committees of the French National Assembly Mrs. Elisabeth Guigou, the German Bundestag Dr. Norbert Röttgen and the Polish Sejm Mr.Grzegorz Schetyna.
The parties discussed the course of events in Ukraine, in particular the situation around Crimea and the Eastern regions of our state. The Minister expressed gratitude to France, Germany and Poland for their firm support of the territorial integrity of Ukraine both at the bilateral level and within the international organizations.
The Chairs of the Foreign Affairs Committees noted important role that the Weimar Triangle is playing in deepening the cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union. In this regard they stressed their readiness to facilitate the domestic reforms of the Government of Ukraine aimed at improving the economic situation in the state. They also pointed out the importance of the preparation and carrying out of the presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25 in accordance with high democratic standards.
A separate attention was paid to the issues of European integration and energy security of our state.
