The next round of bilateral talks at the level of deputy foreign ministers of Ukraine and Denmark was held on 5th of May 2014 at the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine. The Ukrainian delegation was headed by First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Natalia Galibarenko. Danish delegation was led by Kim Jørgensen, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
Particular attention was paid to the political situation in Ukraine, specifically related to the developments in its South-Eastern regions and in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, aroused by the Russian aggression against Ukraine. In this connection, the sides reviewed the possibility of providing practical support of Ukrainian state by the international community and by Denmark.
Kim Jørgensen noted that the leadership of Denmark supports sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and does not recognize the illegitimate accession of the Crimea to Russia.
Natalia Galibarenko informed Danish colleague about the priorities of the Ukrainian Government on the stabilization of the national economy and the implementation of Ukraine's course towards European integration.
The Sides discussed topical issues of bilateral agenda in the political and economic spheres, as well as the prospects for cooperation in the energy sector.
They also exchanged views on practical support by Denmark of Ukraine's European integration course, notably on sharing Denmark’s European integration experience, including advisory and technical assistance in the reforms’ implementation and approximation of the Ukrainian legislation to the EU norms.
