Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Olefirov met with the Special Co-ordinator of the OSCE short-term observer mission Joao Soares

On 5 May Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Olefirov met with the Special Co-ordinator of the OSCE short-term observer mission Joao Soares to discuss the ongoing preparations to the early Presidential elections, which are scheduled for 25 May 2014.
A.Olefirov emphasized the commitment of the Ukrainian government to hold free and fair elections. He briefed his counterpart on the Ukrainian authorities’ efforts to ensure necessary conditions for a free expression of the will by all Ukrainian citizens, including those that reside in the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
On his part, J.Soares expressed his hope that despite all the difficulties and challenges the Ukrainian government will hold the presidential elections as planned in accordance with international standards for democratic elections.
