At the meeting the two sides exchanged views on the current political and security situation in Ukraine. They discussed possible ways of the UN assistance to the de-escalation of the situation in and around Ukraine.  

The meeting testified to the common position of Ukraine and the UN Secretariat leadership as to the necessity of full implementation of the Geneva agreements of 17 April, 2014 and on importance of holding of the early presidential election in Ukraine on May 25, 2014.
