First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Natalia Galibarenko met with Special Envoy for Eastern Europe, Caucasus and Central Asia at the German Foreign Office Cord Meier-Klodt

The primary focus during the meeting was made on the security situation in the Eastern and Southern regions of Ukraine, including the international ways of decreasing the tension.

Mr. Meier-Klodt welcomed Ukraine's steps toward realization of the Geneva meeting of April 17, 2014. In her turn, Ms. Galibarenko, having noted the lack of progress in fulfillment of the Geneva arrangements by the Russian side, expressed the readiness of the Ukrainian Side to continue dialogue in the existing Geneva format (Ukraine, the EU, the United States and the Russian Federation).

Ms. Galibarenko and Mr. Meier-Klodt noted the unquestionable support of conducting free and democratic presidential elections in Ukraine on May 25, 2014.

The German Side also emphasized on its readiness to further render a strengthened support of the realization by the Government of Ukraine of domestic reforms.
