On May 29, 2014 Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Danylo Lubkivsky had a telephone conversation with Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mexico Carlos Alberto de Icaza González.
Danylo Lubkivsky informed his Mexican counterpart about the course of democratic elections that took place in Ukraine on May 25, 2014 and expressed gratitude for permanent support by Mexico of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
“Mexico welcomes democratic elections in Ukraine. The consolidated position of Ukrainian citizens is very important because it allowed electing the President in the first round. We attribute great value to our relations. This is evidenced by our position, the vote of Mexico for the UN General Assembly resolution on the territorial integrity of Ukraine and our denial of Crimea’s annexation,” emphasized the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Mexico.
Both sides discussed the high-priority issues of bilateral cooperation’s agenda and expressed mutual interest in further deepening Ukraine-Mexico partnership.
