The Foreign Minister of Ukraine outlined the importance of Ms Mogherini’s visit to Ukraine as the first visit of Italy’s Foreign Minister abroad within the Italian EU Presidency, which demonstrates the priority of our country for the Italian Presidency.

In this regard Ms F.Mogherini assured of Italy’s support for finding ways of settlement of the situation in Ukraine in the context of the implementation of the peace plan of the President of Ukraine; the implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU; visa liberalization as well as other important issues on the Ukraine-EU agenda. As an instrument to enhance relations between Ukraine and the EU during the Italian Presidency, the constant communication between Ukraine and the EU Foreign Affairs Council was proposed.

The Parties also discussed important issues of the bilateral agenda. P.Klimkin and F.Mogherini noted with satisfaction the significant intensification of political dialogue as well as agreed joint steps aimed at intensifying trade and economic cooperation between the two countries and the development of the legal basis of bilateral relations.
