Sergiy Kyslytsya: International organizations should make proper assessment of flagrant violation of Russia's international obligations
02 September 2014 20:24

September 2, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergiy Kyslytsya received United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ivan Šimonović.

Both sides discussed the activities of the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission (UNMMHR), which has been working in Ukraine on the invitation of the Ukrainian Government.

Ivan Šimonović shared his impressions of his visit to eastern regions, in particular, Slovyansk which has been rebuilt and returns to normal life after its release from terrorists.

Sergiy Kyslytsya drew particular attention of the interlocutor to the actions of the Russian Federation in the conflict zone – its support of terrorists and open military intervention, leading to further deterioration of the humanitarian situation.

“International organizations, including those dealing with human rights, should give a proper assessment of flagrant violations by Russia its international obligations”, - the Ukrainian diplomat said.
