Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin met with the Vice-prime-minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Slovak Republic Miroslav Lajčák

Pavlo Klimkin expressed appreciation for the support by Slovakia of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. The head of Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stressed the importance of supporting the efforts of Ukrainian authorities by the partners of Ukraine, especially in the light of the new package of EU sanctions against Russia.

Special attention was paid to the steps of the Ukrainian government aimed to stabilize the economic situation and to implement the reforms.

M.Lajčák confirmed the readiness of Slovakia to continue supporting reform process in Ukraine and dealing with the consequences of the activities of the terrorist groups in the Eastern Ukraine.

The sides also discussed bilateral agenda in the political, trade and economic spheres.

The Ministers have discussed topics related to the Slovak Chairmanship in the Visegrad group, in particular promising areas of cooperation between Ukraine and this regional forum.
