January 20. Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Sergiy Kyslytsya received Head of the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine Armen Harutyunyan.
Sides discussed current issues related to the work of the Monitoring Mission in Ukraine. Particular attention was paid to grave human rights violations in the occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea as well as in the areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions controlled by the illegally armed groups, supported by Russia.
Sergiy Kyslytsya drew attention to the situation with Nadiya Savchenko and other citizens of Ukraine illegally detained on the territory of the Russian Federation, stressing that the issue of restoring their human rights should continue to be on the agenda of the United Nations human rights mechanisms.
