Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin paid an official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria

On February 16, 2015 in the framework of the official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin held negotiations with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria Daniel Mitov.

The parties discussed a wide range of bilateral relations issues, implementation of the Association Agreement, liberalization of the visa regime for Ukrainian citizens, cooperation within NATO, including adaptation, rehabilitation and treatment of injured Ukrainian military personnel, trade and economic cooperation and energy security, as well as in the field of cultural and humanitarian relations.

Minister Klimkin briefed his counterpart on the results of the talks in Minsk in the Normandy format, first of all, in the context of the ceasefire implementation. Ukrainian Foreign Minister assured the Bulgarian side in the strict keeping by the Ukrainian government within the legislation on partial mobilization and rejected speculations, including from Russia, on non-compliance the principle of proportionality in mobilizing representatives of the Bulgarian minority. Our readiness to help in providing by the Government of Bulgaria humanitarian aid  to the Ukrainian Bulgarians was underlined.

Ministers agreed to pay a joint visit to Ukraine, including regions of compact living of the Bulgarian minority.

During the meeting the official ceremony of the returning two illegally exported Ukrainian icons "St. Varvara" and "Cathedral of Saints" to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine by the Minister of Culture of Bulgaria V.Rashydov was held.
