On March 5 within the framework of her working visit to the United Kingdom the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Natalia Galibarenko has met with the United Kingdom’s Minister for Europe David Lidington.
The British Side was informed about the Ukrainian Government’s efforts aimed at stabilising economic situation, settling situation in the east of Ukraine as well as implementing Minsk arrangements.
The issue of European integration of Ukraine was discussed during the meeting, in particular in view of upcoming Riga Eastern Partnership Summit. Ukrainian Side emphasised that positive decision at the Summit on the visa-free regime between Ukraine along with the EU enhanced support of Eastern Partnership on the part of the EU partners were key priorities for Ukraine.
Natalia Galibarenko also pleaded the British side to do its utmost to facilitate an immediate release of Nadia Savchenko.
David Lidington stressed the unwavering Great Britain’s support of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, endorsement of the efforts undertaken by the President to settle the Donbas region, implement structural reforms. UK Government will continue piling up pressure on Moscow to stop Russian aggression in Ukraine.
On the same day Natalia Galibarenko took part in the opening ceremony of the photo exhibition “The Donbass: War and Peace” in British Parliament.
