President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu.
Opening the meeting President Yanukovych said that Ukraine has always attached great importance to relations with Turkey. "We see good neighbor and friend in Turkey," he said.
The President mentioned that he had had talks with Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Washington during the Nuclear Security Summit and said that Ukraine supports Mr. Erdogan’s proposal to establish a high-level Ukrainian-Turkish strategic council.
Viktor Yanukovych also stressed that Ukraine is interested in Turkey sharing its experience in European integration, trade and economy, energy, transportation, military, techniques and educational fields.
"We think it is quite possible to reach $10 billion in the annual turnover between our countries," he said, adding that efficient work of relevant intergovernmental commissions would be very important for that.
Viktor Yanukovych also praised the continuing growth in investment from Turkey in the Ukrainian economy. "However, this potential is far from being exhausted," he said.
