First Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mrs. Nataliia Galibarenko paid a working visit to Azerbaijan on April 27-29, 2015.
Ukraine-Azerbaijan political consultations were held during the visit under co-chairmanship of deputy ministers for foreign affairs of both states. The delegation of Azerbaijan was headed by Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Mr. Khalaf Khalafov.
Mrs. Nataliia Galibarenko was also received by Minister for Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Mr. Elmar Mammadyarov and First Deputy Chairman of the Milli Mejlis (parliament) of Azerbaijan Mr. Ziyafet Asgarov.
During the consultations and the meetings the sides discussed key issues of bilateral agenda, further actions to enhance cooperation in different fields and preparation for an official visit of President of Ukraine Mr. Petro Poroshenko to Azerbaijan this year.
The sides agreed to provide mutual support for sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine and Azerbaijan within their internationally recognized borders. The need for intensification of bilateral cooperation within the international organizations aimed to resolve these key issues for both countries was stressed.
On behalf of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Pavlo Klimkin Mrs. Nataliia Galibarenko has invited Minister for Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Mr. Elmar Mammadyarov to pay an official visit to Ukraine at his convenience; the offer was accepted with gratitude.
Mrs. Nataliia Galibarenko delivered a speech on the current situation in Ukraine under Russian aggression and Ukraine’s vision of NATO's role in modern security architecture on the continent at a Conference organized by NATO International School of Azerbaijan.
