On March 29, 2010 Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostiantyn Yelisieiev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to Ukraine Jaroslav Bashta due to the termination of the Ambassador’s tenure in Ukraine.
During the meeting the current level and future perspectives of the Ukrainian and Czech cooperation including the bilateral visit schedule were discussed.
A special attention was drawn to the problem of the protection of the Ukrainian citizens staying on the territory of the Czech Republic. In this connection the Deputy Minister marked positively the decision of the Czech Side to cancel the request of submitting medical certificates to obtain the Czech visas by the Ukrainian citizens.
The Sides also discussed the state of the realization of the EU initiative “The Eastern Partnership” in the context of its aims and tasks mentioned in the Joint Declaration of the Prague Eastern Partnership Summit dated of May 7, 2009.
