On May 19, 2015, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin paid a working visit to the CzechRepublic. During the visit the Minister held negotiations with his Czech counterpart Lubomír Zaorálek.
The sides discussed the current situation in Ukraine, the process of implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the state and prospects of Ukrainian-Czech relations, Czech support for transformation process in Ukraine. The ministers also touched upon the preparations for the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga (May 21-22, 2015). Pavlo Klimkin expressed gratitude to the Czech side for support of Ukraine's European aspirations, including within international organizations, as well as the significant humanitarian assistance to Ukraine.
During the visit, Minister Klimkin had a speech at a joint meeting of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the Committee on European Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic’ Parliament. The Head of Ukrainian foreign policy office informed the Czech deputies about the process of reforming Ukraine, implementation of Minsk agreements, and urged members to support Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
During the meeting with the President of Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic Jan Hamáček the sides agreed to enhance bilateral inter-parliamentary dialogue.
Minister Klimkin was interviewed by leading Czech lists of "Mlada Fronta Dnes", "Právo" and the program “Events, comments“ of the Czech Television.
