The counterparts discussed the situation in the East of Ukraine, as well as the state of implementation of the Minsk agreements. In this connection Alexandros Zenon stressed on resolute support by his country of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as on compliance of his country with the EU common policy of sanctions versus Russia.

Nataliia Galibarenko welcomed the continued support by the Government of Cyprus of Ukraine's course towards European integration and expressed hope for fast ratification of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU by the Parliament of Cyprus.

The interlocutors also discussed the expected outcomes of the Riga "Eastern Partnership" Summit scheduled on May 21-22

The counterparts agreed on the importance of continuation of consultations on amendments to the existing bilateral Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation.

Apart of that the schedule of Ukraine-Cyprus political contacts was discussed, including preparation for the visit to Ukraine of President of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiades in the second half of the current year.

Also the Parties exchanged views on prospects of settlement of the "Cyprus issue".
