The Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Republic of Bulgaria Daniel Mitov paid a joint visit to Odesa region on July 5-6

In the framework of the visit the Ministers met with the Head of Odessa Regional State Administration M.Saakashvili and representatives of the Bulgarian national minority. They visited the city of Bolgrad - one of the places of compact residence of Bulgarians in Odessa region.

The main attention during the negotiations with the governance of the Odesa region was paid to the implementation of common projects of enterprises from Odessa region and Bulgaria, the ways of enhancing trade and economic cooperation in general. The Bulgarian side was informed about the situation in the region, as well as the situation with the protection of rights and interests of the Bulgarian national minority.

In Bolgrad the Foreign Ministers visited the G.S.Rakovski High School, where the Bulgarian language is taught. They met with activists of local Bulgarian community, students and teachers of this school.

"The Republic of Bulgaria is a lobbyist for Ukraine's integration into the European Union. This is confirmed by the fact that Bulgaria is one of the first countries to ratify the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement”, P.Klimkin said during the meeting with his Bulgarian counterpart.
