"I came here to emphasize the solidarity and partnership with Ukraine, which is now in a difficult situation, suffering from aggression"- stated Kristian Jensen, Danish Minister for Foreign Affairs in the beginning of the talks with Pavlo Klimkin, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. K.Jensen pays his first working visit to Ukraine after his recent appointment. The visit is an important event in line with the intensification of the bilateral political dialogue since the new Danish Government came to power in June.
During the talks the Ministers agreed on a schedule of political dialogue as an important element for the further development of bilateral cooperation. Particular attention was paid to the situation in the East of Ukraine.
K.Jensen said that Denmark stands firmly for independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine. In this regard, the Danish side expressed its readiness to support the policy of the EU sanctions against Moscow untill full implementation of Minsk agreements, which are considered as a non-alternative platform for a political settlement in Donbas. Minister P.Klimkin thanked Danish colleague for the substantial assistance of the Government of Denmark for solving IDPs needs, as well as for carrying out reforms. Important role of the Center for Energy Analysis was underlined. This Center was founded in Kiev in late 2014 with financial support of Danish Side. During the meeting the sides exchanged views on international agenda.
