Within the framework of his official visit to Beirut Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko had on October 18 a meeting with President of the Republic ofLebanon Michel Sleiman.

Both sides voiced mutual interestedness in the revitalization of political dialogue, expansion of cooperation between the two countries in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields. The Ukrainian Minister praised the President’s personal efforts aimed at maintaining consensus in the Lebanese society, preserving political, economic and security stability in the country.

Reinvigorating of bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation was the main subject of Kostyantyn Gryshchenko’s meeting with Speaker of the Lebanese National Assembly Nabih Berri. The Minister expressed hope that the Speaker will pay a visit to Ukraine which was planned for late May but due to objective reasons was postponed by the Lebanese side.
