On October 17, 2010 Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Kostyantyn Gryshchenko arrived in Beirut for a two-day official visit.
On the same day he had a meeting with Lebanese businessmen – members of the Ukrainian-Lebanese Business Council, and other representatives of the local business circles.
Addressing the attendees, Kostyantyn Gryshchenko stressed Ukraine’s interestedness in the development of relations with the Republic of Lebanon in various fields. Positively assessing the present condition of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, the Minister spoke in favour of its diversification and fuller utilization of the considerable potential of the two countries. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko drew attention of the Lebanese business circles to the measures taken by the Ukrainian Government for creating more conducive environment for foreign investors and invited them to consider the opportunities of participating in the implementation of large-scale projects, including those associated with hosting EURO 2012 Football Championship.
On October 18 the Ukrainian Foreign Minister is expected to meet Lebanese President Michel Sleiman, Prime Minister Saad Hariri and Speaker of the National Assembly Nabih Berri, and to hold talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Ali al-Shami.
