On December 1 during the visit to Brussels Pavlo Klimkin met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.
The sides discussed the situation in Donbas and the status of implementation of the Minsk agreements. P.Klimkin informed the EEAS Chief about the new wave of escalation of tension in Donbas, including numerous armed provocations from the Russia-supported illegal armed groups using heavy weapons, that were to be allocated according to the Minsk agreements. In this regard, the Minister stressed the importance of providing a broader international presence in Donbas and stressed that the EU restrictive measures against Russia should be continued till the full implementation of the Minsk agreements.
P.Klimkin and F.Moherini discussed the trilateral consultations Ukraine-EU-Russia on the implementation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area between Ukraine and the EU held in Brussels and confirmed a common position, that there is no alternative to the start of the DCFTA implementation on January 1, 2016 year.
Special attention during the meeting was paid to the implementation of Ukraine-EU Visa liberalization Action Plan.
