On September 22, 2010 Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Mr. Oleksandr Gorin received Deputy Minister of External Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba Mr. Oscar Peres-Oliva Fraga.

During the meeting, the parties stated the essential potential of Ukraine-Cuba relations and discussed issues of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between the two countries. In this context, they agreed on the necessity to restore cooperative ties and establish new contacts in various sectors of their economies.

The Cuban side referred to the forthcoming visits of the President and the Foreign Minister of Ukraine to Cuba as positive signals for development of Ukraine-Cuba relations in political, trade, economic, and humanitarian spheres.
