September 3, 2010, during the state visit of the President of Ukraine Mr. Viktor Yanukovych to the People’s Republic of China the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Kostyantyn Gryshchenko laid flowers to the Taras Shevchenko’s monument situated at the Beijing Central Park commemorating the genius of the great Ukrainian poet. The author of the sculpture is a famous Chinese artist – Mr.Yuan Xikun.

The author of the sculpture, schoolchildren and public representatives of Beijing city, as well as the staff of the Ukrainian Embassy in China participated in the ceremony.
