Having noted the high level of Ukrainian-Norwegian interaction, both sides stated that the official visit to Norway of the President of Ukraine Mr. Petro Poroshenko – the first ever in the bilateral relations’ history visit of the Head of Ukrainian State, will become the main event of this year in the field of political dialogue. Both sides noted their interest to strengthen cooperation with the aim of proper preparation of this visit.

Mr. Ole Terje Horpestad emphasized the Norway’s unchanged position of supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-recognizing the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia. He said that such aggressive activity of the Russian side with regard to our State is completely unacceptable violation of the international law which could not be justified by anything. He also stressed Norway’s readiness to render further assistance to Ukraine in implementation of systemic reforms, in particular in the spheres of justice, public administration, and energy.
