December 1, 2016 during the working visit to Kenya the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsia met with the Chairperson of the Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations of the National Assembly of the Republic of Kenya Hon. Ndungu Gethenji and the Deputy Chairperson of the Committee Hon. Ellias Shill.

During the meeting they discussed issues of international cooperation and security, as well as the Ukraine–Kenya relations in political, economic, trade and educational spheres.

The sides also noted the prospects of building bridges between the legislative bodies of both countries, including ensuring legislative support of the bilateral relations, particularly by strengthening their legal framework.

The Ukrainian Side has also drawn attention to the invitation by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for the delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Kenya to pay a visit to Kyiv.

Mr. Sergiy Kyslytsia also handed in the letter from the Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Foreign Affairs Hanna Hopko addressed to her Kenyan counterpart, where she expressed the desire to develop and deepen bilateral relations between the parliaments of both countries.
