Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Ukraine and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia were held in Addis Abeba on December 26, 2016.

The Ukrainian delegation was headed by Mr. Oleh Herasуmenko, Ambassador at Large, Head of the United Nations Security Council Membership Task Force. Ethiopian Side was represented by the Director General of the Directorate for European Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Mr. Kassa Gebereyohannes and the Coordinator for the United Nations Security Council issues Mr. Tsegab Kebebew.

The Sides discussed the issues of promoting political dialogue between the two countries, strengthening relations in the sphere of education, active development of legal base, as well as increase of bilateral trade. The particular attention was paid to cooperation in the framework of the UN Security Council in 2017 within Ukraine's and Ethiopia’s membership. The Sides also exchanged views on wide range of current international issues.
